Vodafone employee share plan wins global
communications award
A multi-faceted communications campaign to
excite employees about their Vodafone shares has won a coveted
Global Equity Organisation award.
The GEO Awards are awarded each
year to recognise and honour outstanding achievements by companies
operating international employee stock plans, highlighting best
practices in global equity compensation.
Vodafone won 'Best Share
Plan Communications' for its AllShares Maturity 2006 campaign,
which aimed to excite employees about the shares and help them
to understand the actions they could take.
Recognising the fact
that different communication materials work better in different
countries, core materials including a maturity pack and a website
were produced centrally. This was supported by additional communications
for local preferences, including an HR toolkit, a film for Vodafone
TV and a special feature in the employee magazine, Vodafone life!
Item Group worked with Vodafone to write, design,
translate and produce the booklets, posters, postcards and magazine
article, as well as project managing of the core materials.
‘Employee
understanding of the AllShares maturity was an outstanding success,’ said
Rebecca Trigg, Vodafone Reward and Recognition Analyst. ‘Feedback
has indicated that the materials received were in keeping with
the Vodafone “Red, Rock Solid, Restless” brand essence
and were clear and concise, enabling employees to make informed
decisions about their shareholdings.’
