If people are an organisation’s biggest
asset, creating a firm partnership that sees employees engaged and
ambassadors for the business is vital for success.
Recent studies such as Watson Wyatt’s – Connecting Organisational
Communication to Financial Performance – found that ‘a
significant improvement in communication effectiveness is associated
with a 29.5 per cent increase in market value’.
Research has identified the key drivers of employee engagement and
the common theme throughout is effective communication.
Next month’s ASPIC workshop explores how to make communications
key to employee engagement.
The event in London on 6 November feature two speakers who will
share their practical and relevant experiences of employee engagement
and lessons learned.
Nycomed and GlaxoSmithkline:
Mark Watkins, Director of Organisational Communications at Danish
pharmaceutical company Nycomed, recently managed internal communications
through their EUR4 billion purchase and integration of German company
ALTANA Pharma.
Mark will share his views on the communications lessons learned
from the four big mergers he’s been associated with and observed
in his previous roles at GlaxoSmithkline and currently at Nycomed.
This includes the challenges of engaging employees and management
within different cultures during organisational change.
Andy Parsley, Director of Green Lion, will clarify why employee
engagement matters and outline a road map for successful engagement.
He will share his ‘manifesto’ for overcoming the barriers
in place in most organisations that hinder effective engagement.
In 2002 Andy founded Green Lion to support organisations in the
areas of Employee Engagement and Employer Reputation. His current
clients include the BBC, McDonald’s, Royal Bank of Scotland,
and Siemens.
The event runs from 9.30 to 13.00 and includes networking and round
table debate, plus lunch. Tickets are strictly limited and cost
£90.
