Item Group celebrates first issue of
new-look magazine for The Co-Operative Group
The new look that Item has given to a national
magazine for employees of The Co-operative Group has been labelled ‘a
hit’ by the member-owned business.
The 48-page ‘Us’ magazine
is primarily aimed at customer-facing employees who work in stores
and branches across the UK.
As a result, the publication, which
is produced bi-monthly, has to appeal to a very diverse audience
of all ages and backgrounds.
The updated design was created by
the award-winning Item design team to meet the needs of that varied
audience, and also to reflect a new group branding.
The new look
has already gone down well, even thought the first revamped issue
was only published recently.
Group Communications Manager Robert
Cohen, who’s based at The Co-operative Group’s HQ in
Manchester, says: ‘We were looking for an agency with a strong
track record in magazine design that could help us revamp our staff
journal so it would compete for attention with paid-for lifestyle
magazines.
‘Item understood exactly where we were coming
from and met the needs of our audience.
‘We've had a friendly
and professional service and the first edition has already proved
a hit with colleagues across the business.’
