Highly-decorated publications Vodafone life!
and Hi! have enjoyed further success after securing Awards of Excellence
in the 2006 Communicators in Business (CiB) awards.
Hi!, produced for global
oil, energy and aluminium company Hydro, won the Award of Excellence
in two classes, the hotly-contested
‘magazines published more than six times a year’ and
‘multilingual publications’ categories.
Written, designed and
produced by Item and a Hydro team in Oslo, Hi! is currently Europe’s
best multilanguage magazine in the FEIEA (Federation of European
Industrial Editors Associations) awards, a title held for the
past two years.
The CiB judges said: “Hi! is an unusual
and professionally-constructed publication with plenty of impact…it’s
innovative, stylish, informative, attractive and a pleasure to
read.”
Meanwhile, Vodafone life!, a global employee magazine written and
designed by Item for the world’s leading mobile telecommunications
company, has secured an Award of Excellence in the ‘multilingual
publications’ category.
The judges described
the magazine – which
has won industry awards every year since it was launched in 2001
– as “intelligent, bright, brisk and packed with information…a
highly professional publication that works hard to meet its stated
objectives”.
The national CiB competition attracts nearly
1,000 entries in classes ranging across print, electronic media
and communication skills.
Final class winners will be announced at the
gala awards dinner in Bournemouth on 5 May.
