Hydro magazine wins best European multi-language
publication award
Hydro’s global employee magazine, Hi! (Hydro
Inside), has been named Europe’s best multi-language publication
2004.
The magazine is written,
designed and produced by Item and Hydro’s in-house team, based in Oslo. It won
the best internal multi-language publication award in the annual
Grand Prix competition designed to find Europe’s best business
publications and organised by FEIEA, the Federation of European
business communicators’
associations.
The accolade comes just months after Hi! was named both best multi-language
and best new publication 2004 in the UK’s Communicators in
Business Awards.
The Grand Prix final, which took place in Berne,
Switzerland, at the end of October, was judged by a jury made up
of representatives from 13 countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia,
Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
“If people thought they were good in their
national competitions, then this competition sets a whole new standard,”
says Maritta Arvidsson, FEIEA Grand Prix co-ordinator. “To
win in Europe, you really do have to be good."
Alison Crossley, Item’s Managing Director
and a member of the magazine’s Anglo-Norwegian team, said:
“When the magazine was launched last December we set out
to produce a magazine that was seen as outstanding by Hydro people
and by our peers in business communications.
“To be named best
in the UK and the best in Europe within a year is absolutely
fantastic, and a credit to everyone involved in the magazine.”
