3M awards magazine and online communications
contract to Item
Item is enjoying playing the numbers game after
securing a contract to produce the monthly 4U magazine for 3M in
the UK and Ireland.
The deal builds on the
strong relationship between the two companies. Item has produced
a daily news update for 3M’s
UK intranet for the past three years, winning a CiB Award of Excellence
in 2002 for a competition designed to drive traffic to the site.
John Klee, 3M Corporate
Communications Manager, says: “We set out to source support
for the magazine and intranet from a single agency, which to
me makes a lot of sense from a news gathering perspective. I
am hugely encouraged to see such a strong and talented 3M/Item
team raring to go on what I am sure will prove to be a hugely
enjoyable and rewarding project.”
Senior Writer Paul Jones,
who heads Item’s
3M team, says: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with
the company for the past three years, and I was delighted when
we were selected to revitalise 4U.
“Everyone
involved is very excited about what lies ahead for the publication,
and I hope that feeling will come across to the readers.”
